The Beacon House Services

Long-Term Treatment

As a social model program, residents learn peer-to-peer feedback, mentorship, character building, spiritual values, taking responsibility, helpfulness to others, and following the directions. Residents will experience group and individual counseling in addition to obtaining a 12-step sponsor, learning the basic concepts of 12-step programs and beginning 12-step work. Within the first months of the long-term program, clients will understand the disease concept and how to practice the fundamentals of recovery.

As residents continue in the program, they will have the opportunity to address any underlying psychological or emotional issues that may have contributed to their struggles with addiction. Continuing their 12-step work, assuming a larger role in 12-step meetings, and participating in community service activities are also key components at this stage of our program. The Long-Term Treatment program can last for several months to a few years based on the willingness of the resident, job training selected, education goals, or other individual needs prior to returning to work.
